Young Musicians Festival

YOUNG MUSICIANS FESTIVAL

The purpose of the Young Musicians Festival is to Provide a non-conpetitive performance environment for students of public school age whose teachers are either
      a) members of the Schubert Club or
      b) submit a teacher registration form of $40 with the student
          application.
The  Festival  is for piano, harp, strings, voice, and woodwind instruments.

Students benefit by hearing other students of the same level perform, while practicing their  performance skills by preparing two pieces from a YMF syllabus. These performances are adjudicated by tw
o professionals who give written comments and a rating (1-5 points) on the student's performance.

Each performer recieves a certificate according to their achieved rating. Points accumulate annually and are noted on the student's record. When 15 points have been acquired the student recieves a Gold Cup. Further points are then accumulated toward a second or third Gold Cup.

For more information please log in to the YMF website.
Questions regarding applications should be directed to the YMF Registrar, Cheryl Lacy at TALacy@aol.com.

Dates for Festival 2010, piano and voice,  are March 6,7, 13 and 14 at Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT.  Please see the festival web site
