Mr. Ilya Itan. 10:00 a.m. at the Steinway Piano Gallery, 501 Post Road
East, Westport. Admission $15 with advance reservation, $20 at the
door. From December 1827 to September 1828, Schubert composed a wealth
of piano music, culminating in his final group of three sonatas: C
minor, A Major, and B-flat Major. With the help of pianist Ilya Itin,
issues of lyricism, tonality, and form will be explored as they arise
in these sonatas, especially in the last of them, the Sonata in B-flat,
D.960 |
